Do I have to live in Clinton to swim at the pool?

No. The Jack Boynton Community Pool is open to everyone, regardless of where you live.

Who owns the pool?

The Jack Boynton Community Pool is located on the grounds of Clinton Central School but is run and maintained by the Clinton Youth Foundation. The Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that receives monetary donations from the Town of Kirkland and local businesses, fundraisers, grants from The Community Foundation, the Hamilton College Town Gown fund, and others. Clinton Central School gives us many in-kind donations and is very supportive of our mission. We also rely on summer memberships and admission fees to meet our costs.

What is the minimum age for swim lessons?

Our minimum age for lessons is four-years old. We will also consider a four-year old who will likely be able to demonstrate the skills listed in our placement guide. Parents may want to consider bringing their child to the first lesson and discussing age and ability with the instructor. Or parents can drop by the pool or call 315.853.5687 to discuss lessons for their four-year old. Children younger than five may consider taking the parent/toddler class.
